Albertas Danilevicius was born in 1961, in Plunge. He graduated from the Technical School of Applied Art in Telsiai, specializing in the art of stone processing. In 1986, he graduated from the Vilnius Art Academy, where he studied sculpture. Since 1994, he has been living with his family in Juodkrante, Neringa.

Albertas creates his art from stone, wood, and metal. His sculptures are monumental and have a clear compositional structure. The subjects of Albertas’ creations have changed over time. His early wood works can be distinguished by their similarity to the ritualistic sculptures of the old Balts.  “Medeina”, “Zvaigzdiklis”, “Zemyna”, “Gabija”, and others share this quality. Albertas’ tomb sculptures have “floating” forms and expressive factures. They are closely related to the Christian tradition. Christ’s face, a head crowned by thorns, and representations of Mary’s figure can be seen in works such as “Tyla”(“Silence”), “Tevui”(“For Father”), “Liudesys”(“Sorrow”). Albertas participated in the competition for Gediminas’ monument in Vilnius, and in various symposiums in Juodkrante ( in 1997 and in 1999 symposiums of stone sculpture), Wales (in 2000), and Vilkaviskis(a symposium of folk masters). In recent years, he has been creating fire sculptures in Juodkrante and Plunge. Together with his wife Kristina (artist, creating phytocollages) and his daughter Ula (VDA student), they have organized many art exhibitions in Lithuania. Among others places, the exhibitions have been held at the “Lango” and “Lietuvos Aidas” galleries in Vilnius, in the F. Bajoraitis library in Silute, at the Oginskiai Palace in Plunge, and at the exhibition galleries of Juodkrante. Albertas' sculptures can be found in various private collections in Lithuania, the USA, Germany, Austria, and England.
